The BUFADESO ISDBM is a project to make seed physically sustainably available to farmers, with combination with relevant supporting services. The ISDIBM concept is based on the underlying idea that both the business community and smallholder
farmers will benefit from integrating smallholders into markets. In this model BUFADESO will sale seeds (as
company whole sale agents) directly to farmers at discountable prices while offering free extension services to farmers. The model will make the organization generate income from sale of seeds to farmers while giving farmers an opportunity to on-time, assured, and quality seeds with farming extension services. Moreover the organization has selected farmers who will receive seeds loans and pay grains after harvesting through a “KOPA
MBEGU, LIPA NAFAKA” scheme. Through this scheme, the organization is selling the collected maize grain through a collective marketing strategy.
