INCLUSIVE SEED DELIVERY BUSINESS MODEL (ISDBM) is a flagship initiative aimed at increasing smallholder farmers' access to quality seed and associated services through an inclusive, demand-driven approach. The model blends social support with sustainable business practices to ensure that even the most vulnerable farmers can obtain seed and technical advice timely.
Key components include the physical distribution of quality seed at discounted rates, provision of free extension services to support proper agronomic practices, a seed-loan mechanism branded "KOPA MBEGU, LIPA NAFAKA" that allows farmers to access seed on credit, and collective marketing channels for surplus produce. The approach also promotes partnerships with private-sector input suppliers to secure supply chains and improve seed variety availability.
